365 Project - The Other Side of the Lens.

Nervously, and with a lot of prayer, I began this project January 7, 2012. I joined up with a group of strangers on http://www.mavenforums.com and for an entire year, we watched people come and go, got to know each others families, and marveled at each other's photos. It was an incredible experience and did so much for me that I wasn't expecting. It ended up being an expression of self like I'd never done before. 367 photos later, my perspective on self portraits, the internet, and photography was changed. I had made new friends all over the world, and even met with some of them in person. Every photo has a story, and a memory, and when I look through them I feel a deep satisfaction. Many thanks to Michael for putting for the effort to get us all shooting self portraits, and many thanks to all my friends who motivated me for an entire year! It's made a world of difference. With your positivity and motivation, you've inspired me and built confidence in me, and I know that as a photographer I'll never be the same. Below, the photos are the visible fruits of our labors and prayers, but the real benefit only I really know. Thank you, and enjoy!

    April 23, 2012. Day 108.
I struggled to take a good photo yesterday - so well, that's it. Oh well!

 Oh, now that I'm here
I see that there's lots of folks
 Walking through my shot

    April 24, 2012. Day 109.
So there I was, lounging comfortably on a friend's couch, while he and my husband were outside. Then, I looked out the window, and John was on a dirtbike. He taught me how to drive it (he'd only known for about 5 minutes) and I was just soooo excited that I had to set up the tripod and take a photo, haha! I think the big cheesy smile says it all. Thanks, Travis and John!

So far, it's just fun!
The hardest part's the courage
To get out of first!

    April 25, 2012. Day 110.

I went out for a trip to Lazy Mountain the other day, just for the purpose of at least getting outside this week. I didn't have the motivation for a mad dash to the peak, so I explored the new "lazy moose" trail. There were moose prints everywhere, but there's all ways moose prints everywhere, so it didn't worry me much. Then, I found the moose. Lacking motivation, and being a chicken, I decided not to get in it's face and walk past it on the trail. I happily shrugged it off and turned around, walking on until I thought I heard some ptarmigan in the bushes. Whipping around my camera, I discovered I was missing a lens cap. I bowed my head and said a quick prayer to find it, and headed back. I went back to the moose, and looked around on the trail with no luck. As I gave up and turned around, it was about a foot away from me, on the trail underneath low tree branches. I was pretty amped! So, thankfully, my lens has something to cover it again, lol.

There's no need to fear,
Only some moose tracks are here
Let's go search the woods!
