  1. Photography Projects

365 Project - The Other Side of the Lens.

Nervously, and with a lot of prayer, I began this project January 7, 2012. I joined up with a group of strangers on http://www.mavenforums.com and for an entire year, we watched people come and go, got to know each others families, and marveled at each other's photos. It was an incredible experience and did so much for me that I wasn't expecting. It ended up being an expression of self like I'd never done before. 367 photos later, my perspective on self portraits, the internet, and photography was changed. I had made new friends all over the world, and even met with some of them in person. Every photo has a story, and a memory, and when I look through them I feel a deep satisfaction. Many thanks to Michael for putting for the effort to get us all shooting self portraits, and many thanks to all my friends who motivated me for an entire year! It's made a world of difference. With your positivity and motivation, you've inspired me and built confidence in me, and I know that as a photographer I'll never be the same. Below, the photos are the visible fruits of our labors and prayers, but the real benefit only I really know. Thank you, and enjoy!

    September 29, 2012. Day 267.

Woke up to fresh snow this morning! It didn't stick, but it was beautiful!
I didn't know how to pose for this photo. Kinda wish I didn't look so bored - haha!

    September 30, 2012. Day 268.
Today is the day that I turned 23 years old. I was expecting that - but I wasn't expecting anything like a party, gifts, or the piles of love and happy birthdays. But, the best friends in the world showed up and did just that. I'm pretty humbled, I so don't deserve it! I've got to be the most blessed 23 year old ever. I really appreciate these lovely ladies (and gents) that I get to refer to as my church family. That's not to mention all the texts and posts from various family and friends. Thanks guys, you really do put a smile in my heart.

Danielle whipped me out this awesome, raspberry vanilla treat. It was adorable and delicious. Especially in my belleh.

Love you guys! Thanks for making my day!

    October 1, 2012. Day 269.

Just so it's known, it was 9:44pm and dark when this was taken. The resulting flash (which was a little much, plus a couple other shots trying to make it less nuclear but not dark) made my upstairs neighbor peek out the window. Between that and my other neighbor walking out of her apartment (for reasons probably completely unrelated to whatever weird stuff I was doing in the yard,) I got too shy to try again. So... there it is.
