  1. Photography Projects

365 Project - The Other Side of the Lens.

Nervously, and with a lot of prayer, I began this project January 7, 2012. I joined up with a group of strangers on http://www.mavenforums.com and for an entire year, we watched people come and go, got to know each others families, and marveled at each other's photos. It was an incredible experience and did so much for me that I wasn't expecting. It ended up being an expression of self like I'd never done before. 367 photos later, my perspective on self portraits, the internet, and photography was changed. I had made new friends all over the world, and even met with some of them in person. Every photo has a story, and a memory, and when I look through them I feel a deep satisfaction. Many thanks to Michael for putting for the effort to get us all shooting self portraits, and many thanks to all my friends who motivated me for an entire year! It's made a world of difference. With your positivity and motivation, you've inspired me and built confidence in me, and I know that as a photographer I'll never be the same. Below, the photos are the visible fruits of our labors and prayers, but the real benefit only I really know. Thank you, and enjoy!

    December 13, 2012. Day 342.

There's our car in the ditch!
Thank the Lord no one was hurt, and the car has only minor damage. A couple airbags went off, the seatbelt needs some love and the doors are a little wonky, but I think that's all that actually needs to be fixed. I thought for a moment there we were going to roll, so I'm very glad it wasn't in a worse spot along the road! I had Quaylin and Lynda Adrian in my car, and I'm so so so thankful they didn't get hurt. I would of felt horrible, and I'm sure grateful that God was looking out for all three of us and my car in that moment. I can't really thank Him enough. :)
So anyway, it's icey out there! Be safe and slow down a bit! I know I was going a tad fast. And thank you Shawn for pulling me out!
Those are my footprints, in case anyone wonders why this qualifies as a self portrait.

    December 14, 2012. Day 343.

Having a seamstress moment. I didn't buy any fabric, nor did I go to the store to look at batiks, but they have some very pretty ones. Goproing in a fabric store.

I got behind, and had to make up a few. This one and the next one are both definitely not taken on their respective days. I have to admit, these last few days are some of the hardest!

    December 15, 2012. Day 344.

Once again, this wasn't taken on the 15th. It's that frozen eyelash/hair/everything time of year again. I've had frozen crystals lightly all the way across my forehead like a unibrow before hehe.
